As a candidate for Baltimore City Council, I plan to use my experience as an organizer and advocate to bring a new vision to the 10th District.

My belief in our city’s potential motivated me to pursue a career in public service. I have spent the last decade working with schools and communities all over Baltimore to engage individuals and develop strategies to address the serious issues facing our city. I am ready to use my unique skills and enthusiasm to form the partnerships and attract the resources necessary to lead the District in a new direction while building on the strengths already in place.

The key to moving ahead is creative and responsive leadership. Too often in this city we talk about problems, but rarely emphasize the opportunities available to us. Genuine leadership involves searching out new resources and using them to address community needs, strengthening families and building neighborhood capacity. By focusing on issues such as school reform, leadership development, and access to job skills, I want to support our youth and engage them as active community members. I also intend to offer innovative strategies to deal with issues such as housing, economic development, and crime.
